Your Consultation & Patch Test
What to expect at your first visit
Before your first official session, we must conduct a thorough assessment to ensure laser treatment is suitable for your skin, hair and medical history, and to choose the right settings for you.
The Timeline
A complimentary consultation and patch test must be carried out at least 48 hours prior to your first treatment.
Validity
Your patch test is valid for two weeks. If your first treatment is not booked within this timeframe, a new patch test will be required.
Hair Preparation
Please arrive at your consultation with a few days of hair growth in your target areas.
Medical Screening
We will review your medical history and any medications that could affect your laser safety.
The Test
Your practitioner will shave a small, discreet section of hair to safely perform the patch test.
Cancellation Policy
We enforce a strict 48-hour cancellation policy.

Clean shave the entire treatment area within 24 hours of your appointment.
Root Preservation
Strictly no plucking, waxing, epilating, or hair removal creams for at least two weeks before your session. The hair root must remain intact for the laser to target it.
Sun & Tanning
Avoid all direct sun exposure and sunbeds for at least 14 days prior to treatment. You must not have an active tan.
Maternity
Please inform us immediately if there is any chance you could be pregnant or are currently breastfeeding.
Medication
You must keep us fully updated on any changes to your health, medications, or antibiotics before your session.

Post-Treatment Care
How to protect your skin after treatment
Following your session at Luminier Laser Aesthetics, your skin may look slightly pink, red, or feel tender. This is a perfectly normal histamine reaction and will quickly subside.
Cooling & Calming
You may apply pure Aloe Vera gel or clean cool packs to soothe the skin and draw heat out of the tissue.
Heat Avoidance (48 Hours)
Avoid hot baths, hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools, and strenuous gym workouts for 48 hours to prevent irritation or infection.
Between Sessions
Never wax, pluck, epilate, or use hair removal creams between treatments. You may shave as normal 48 hours after your session.
Sun Protection
Daily application of SPF 50 is mandatory on all treated areas exposed to daylight. Avoid direct sun exposure for 14 days.
Products & Tanning
Do not apply deodorants or perfumes to the treated area for 24 hours. Wait at least 7 days before applying any fake tan.
Hair Shedding
Around 10 days post-treatment, begin a very gentle exfoliation routine in the shower. This helps lift dead hair follicles out of the skin as they naturally shed.
