Pre Care
What to do before your treatment
- The treatment area must be shaved within 24 hours of the appointment. (Excluding patch tests) (all areas)
- No plucking, waxing, epilating or hair removal cream for at least two weeks prior to appointment. (all areas)
- No sun exposure or sun beds for at least 14 days before treatment. You must not have an active tan. (all areas)
- No fake tan or tan residue to be on or surrounding the treatment area. (legs/bikini/arms)
- No make up or skincare products to be worn on the face, if we are treating this area. (face)
- Arrive to your appointment ensuring the skin is clean, with no deodorant, perfumes or creams. Wear light coloured, loose and comfortable clothing. (underarms/body)
- SPF 50 must be worn when the skin is exposed to the sun. (face/arms/legs)
- Avoid the use of acids (Retinol, AHA's, BHA's, Salicylic etc), deep exfoliation or facial/skin peeling treatments. (face)
- We can treat areas where dermal filler has been placed, provided at least 4 weeks have passed since the procedure. (face/lips)
- Please let me know if there is a chance you could be pregnant, or are breastfeeding. (all areas)
- Ensure to keep me informed of any changes in medication or antibiotics before your appointment. (all areas)
- If you are unable to shave the treatment area yourself - I am able to do this for you on the day of treatment for an extra charge of £20, but you may experience a heightened reaction in the form of redness, sensitivity to treatment or swelling. (legs/bikini)
Post Care
What to do after your treatment
- The skin around the treatment area may appear red or could be tender for a short period of time. You may apply Aloe Vera or cool packs to reduce heat within the skin.
- No form of hair removal between treatments, including waxing, epilating, creams or plucking. You may shave as normal 48 hours after treatment.
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 14 days after treatment.
- Avoid going to the gym, swimming, saunas and steam rooms for at least 48 hours to prevent infection.
- Apply SPF 50 to the treatment area, when exposed to the sun.
- Do not apply any fake tan to the treatment area for at least 7 days.
- No deodorant or perfumes to be worn on the treatment area for 24 hours.
- Avoid hot baths/showers for 48 hours after treatment.
- Gentle exfoliation after 10 days will help the hair shedding process.
Patch Test & Consultation
What to expect at your first visit
- A consultation and patch test MUST be carried out with a minimum of 48 hours before treatment.
- Patch tests remain valid for two weeks. After this time, a new patch test will be required prior to treatment.
- The initial consultation fee is £10.
- During the consultation I will assess your skin and hair tone using an AI Hair Analyser.
- We'll discuss any conditions or medications that may impact your treatment.
- Please arrive at your consultation with a few days' worth of hair growth in the area/s you wish to treat, this enables us to use the AI Hair Analyser to view the hair under magnification.
- I will shave a small area of hair for the patch test.
